The great Khmer empire began in the early 800's, when a future Khmer ruler by the name Jayavarman II stumbled upon the land. Jayavarman and his armies expanded the kingdom starting first with conquering neighboring tribes. The Khmer empire was at the height in between the times of 850-1250. At those times the Khmer empire had conquered most of southeast Asia, meaning Indochina/Cambodia. Their political system consisted of a King, his queen/queens his tutors/advisers and then they had their own version of the Cast system. There were two types of slave, those for the Gods, and those who were just slaves to people. This is Jayavarman II
